Job Description
Our client, the world's leading search engine and technology company, is seeking a Research Associate. This is a 6 month + contract position located in Mountain View, CA.

Summary:

  • We're looking for a research associate with a background in micro/molecular biology.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute high throughput, SOP driven, NGS library preparation workflows including WGS and RNA-Seq, with an emphasis on liquid handling automation.
  • Operate sequencing instruments.
  • Collaborate with scientists to improve current NGS workflows/processes in creative and effective ways.
  • Work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to solve complex problems and achieve goals/deadlines.
  • Thoroughly document and effectively communicate scientific results and progress.
  • Assist with other molecular biology tasks as needed at the scientific platform.


Requirements:
  • BS/MS (or equivalent) in molecular biology, biochemistry, biology or related field with 1+ year(s) of hands-on NGS experience.
  • Strong experience with the preparation and sequencing of various DNA and RNA sequencing libraries (Illumina).
  • Experience with operating Illumina sequencing platforms.
  • Hands-on experience to operate automated liquid handling platforms.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A sense of adventure and excitement to work in a highly dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot technical and scientific issues, both individually and as part of a team.
  • Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.

Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications:
  • Experience with other molecular biology techniques (e.g., Nucleic acids purification, vector constructions, PCR/RT-PCR amplification is a plus.
  • Experience using Benchling or similar electronic notebook type experience.


Pay rate range: $56.56 - $59.69 hourly
